Cooking with Mommy

Isabelle is really into helping me with everything lately, so the other day I thought that I would start teaching her how to cook. She absolutely loves it! We cooked meatloaf , all she wants to do was keep adding things to the bowl which was perfect for meatloaf. She was so proud of herself. Bad thing is that I have created a monster, now she wants to help me cook everything!

Sorry for slacking off

Hey people, I am sorry for slacking off on the blogging lately. I have had so much going on lately so I have a lot of catching up to do. A couple of weeks ago Dave and I both worked at craft fairs trying to get some business for my site www.WorksofaWink.com

Dave worked the craft fair at our church for me, with some friends of mine (what a wonderful hubby he is). I worked at the McKinney High School Craft Fair with a friend of mine who is a photographer http://www.watermelon-photography.com/

Unfortunately I did not get pictures of the booth at the church since I was not there, but I did get some from the high school. Thank you Jaime for recommending that I decorate a tree with my cards, so creative!

(sorry about the flash, this camera is not that great)

Christmas Cards

This weekend Dave and I are going to work two Craft Fairs, one at our church and the second at McKinney North Highschool. I am trying to get everything ready to sell my Christmas cards, so here are a few new ones that I created today:

The Word on the Streets

Yesterday, Isabelle and I went to Jump N Land to meet with our playgroup. I was a little disappointed that we were the only ones that showed up, but we had fun anyway. Isabelle loves bounces houses and especially the big slides.

After Jump N Land we went home for a nap. Of course Isabelle did not sleep, but when I went to get her up for dance class she says to me, "Hey mom, what's the world on the streets". I could not believe what I just heard, my 2 year old daughter is speaking Ebonics. I looked at her puzzled, "I don't know Isabelle, what is the word on the streets?" " The word of the day is SKY", she answered. Oh thank goodness the word of the streets means the word of the day. I later found out that Sesame Street has a little video at the beggining of each show called, ' Word on the Street'. Today's word is Expert!

Garage Sale

Many of the people in the HOA were asking about a community garage sale, so I finally gave in. Dave and I had our first garage sale last Saturday and it was AWESOME! We ended up making a whopping $550, Dave Ramsey would be proud.

As we are sorting through all of our stuff I decided that we would sell our infant carrier, and get a new one if we ever get pregnant again (yes, still trying!). Isabelle was so excited when she saw the car seat and to our surprise she actually still fit in it. We were able to buckle her up and didn't even have to adjust the seat belt (she is so tiny). Check out the picture of Daddy and Isabelle playing with the car seat.

(the second picture is a good one to save just incase Dave and I ever have a custody battle.. J/K)

I also went through some of Isabelle's old toys, the really babyish ones. She seemed to be ok when I told her that I was selling some of her stuff, that is until someone tried to leave with it. Someone started to leave with one of "her" toys and she started to yell, "Hey, come back with that". Once I told her we were selling the things for horsey money she wanted to hold the money and was fine with selling everything. People would walk up and she would point and say, "That's for sale".. LOL (Horsey money is for the carousel at the mall)

Family Pictures

In an effort to save a little money and to get our Christmas pictures done early this year we swapped picture taking with the Worley family this year. On Monday we took the Worley's picture and they came out awesome! Isabelle had a good time being my photographers assistant. She held all of the sticks at the park so they would not be in the picture, you know how those pesky sticks can be. Here are a few of the pictures we took (Jaime, I hope you don't mind me posting them):

On Tuesday it was the Wink Families turn. Of course we needed a bribe, so we told Isabelle that we would give her a sucker if she did a good job. I included a picture of her with her prize sucker! I plan on printing out copies of the pictures for everyone for Christmas, but I could not keep them a secret until then. So Merry Early Christmas everyone! (I have a little photo editing to do, so these are not the final results)

Flu Shot

Last year was the only year that I did not get my flu shot, only because I never found the time. Low and behold I get the flu on Christmas day, oh it was the worst! This year I made the time to get everyone our flu shots!

Dave and I got ours at Tom Thumb, but Isabelle was not old enough to get hers there so I took her to CVS. Before we went to CVS I talked to Isabelle about the getting the shot, and for some reason she was under the impression that it would tickle and she was going to laugh. Who am I to tell her she was wrong, so I just went along with it. Of coure once she actually got the shot she quickly realized that she was not going to laugh, and it did not tickle. I have to say that Isabelle has a history of being a bit of a drama queen and this was no different. The nurse told us that we needed to stay in the store for a little while to make sure that Isabelle did not have a reaction. So Isbaelle gets up and starts limping around, makes it out the door of the Minute Clinic and sees a chair. Then she turns to me and says, "my flu shot hurt me, let's sit down and lax my leg for lil bit".. LOL So we had to sit down, while she ate her sucker and relaxed her leg for a little while. After about 10 minutes she was able to get up and limp around the store for a little while.

The funny thing is on Halloween while out and about Isabelle had to go potty. The closest place was CVS, so we stopped there. As soon as we pulled up Isabelle yelled, " I don't want a flu shot". I am not sure when the memory of the bad trip to CVS will diminish.

Halloween

I am sorry I have been such a slacker lately when it come to updating my blog. Things have been super busy around here lately.

With that said, we had a great Halloween! Isabelle got all dressed up and took her to Hawaiian Falls in The Colony. Many of the churches got together and held a large Trunk-or-Treat event in the parking lot. It was a lot of fun, they had a Christian band, over 50 cars (just a guess), bounce houses, and a LOT of candy.
