For those of you who know Isabelle well she loves, loves, loves, OUTSIDE. She couldn't care if it was 100 degrees outside or 20 degrees outside, she just wants to be out. She also loves to swing and slide.. Dave and I have been trying to decide whether or not to get a swing set for the backyard because we within walking distance of a few playgrounds, and then we could not decide whether we should get wood or plastic. We finally made up our minds and went with a wooden swing set from Toys R Us.
It is going to be a major feat to get this thing together so Dave and Pop-Pop (Dave's dad) are going to tackle the chore on Saturday. Isabelle is so excited!! The slide is in a box in the entry way and she keeps walking by asking me to open it (when she says it, it sounds like "bobben it Mommy"), I have been holding her back all week. She can also see the neighbors swing set from over our fence and she tell us, "I want that". I think Dad and Pop Pop will have this thing about half way up before she can resist climbing all over it.
The construction of the set I am sure will make a very interesting blog post, so keep checking for updates.
Here is a picture of Isabelle's first day, and her last day on her "baby" swing set. She's a big girl NOW!

Sit Boo Boo Sit- Good Girl!
After dinner Isabelle wanted a snack, so I got her some raisins. She finished about half the box when she asked Daddy to hold them. Daddy told Tootsie to sit and then he gave one to Tootise, Isabelle then rushed over and said, "I sit too". It was so cute, Dave had to give Tootsie a raisin and then gave Isabelle one. Once Isabelle finally caught on she started giving Tootise the raisins herself.
Pee Pee
Okay, so Dave and I are pretty new at this parenting thing and have never potty trained before. How in the heck do you teach a kid to go in the potty. We know that Isabelle is super smart and she is showing all kinds of signs of being ready to go in the big potty. She loves to sit on the toilet, she tells you when she is wet or poopy, and the other day I went to get her up from her nap and she was sitting on top of the changing table with her diaper off, wipes all of the place and the room smelled of baby lotion. I do not think that the kid could be more ready.
So last night we went to Target and made a big deal about Isabelle getting big girl panties. Yeah! Let me tell you now, the kid looks adorable in big girl panties.. Oh so cute! We decided that we would start trying to potty train this weekend, but I really want to use the old type of cloth training pants (apparently they are hard to find). Anyways, Isabelle gets home and wants to put on the big girl panties, I explain to her that she has to tell Mommy and Daddy when she wants to go potty. I took her to the potty and put her on. You should see the look on her face, she is grinning from ear to ear and is so proud of her self. I keep asking her do you need to go pee pee, she says yeah and then wipes and flushes the toilet. (She still has not pee pee'd in the potty at this point) She then gets off the potty seat and starts to climb back on, when she starts to pee pee. It was hilarious, you should have seen the look on her face she was so shocked and clueless as to what just happened. This is when it dawned on me that she has no clue what pee pee is... LOL Well she slips and falls on the pee pee, starts crying and Mommy has to hold her. The adventure ends with Mommy and Isabelle covered in pee pee and NONE in the potty!!
If I can find the cloth training pants today I will try it out again this weekend. What a mess, literally!

Spring Break Visitors
Last week was my first week off and boy was it a busy one. It just happened to be the same week that Spring Break fell on so we were lucky enough to have a bunch of visitors. Daniel and Troy (my brother and uncle, yes I said Uncle-he's a young uncle) spent the night for a couple of nights. We had a great time, we visited Aviator park and the boys had a great time playing with Isabelle.
Then we went and picked up Ashley and Shane to spend a couple of nights. Before we left Hurst Pop (my dad), Troy, and Ashley took Isabelle to the park. Isabelle had so much fun that she threw a huge fit before we left, she loves to swing and slide!!
While Shane and Ashley were over we decided to do some painting, Isabelle loves to paint!! As you can image she made a huge mess. It was so cute, she had it all over herself including all over her face. It looked like she had a goatee so we finished it off by making her a beard and putting silly glasses on her. She had so much and then it was off to the bath tub.

Easter
We had such a great time at Easter. It started with Isabelle waking up to her presents from the Easter bunny. She got new hair ties, socks, stuff animals, a bunny cup, and her favorite FRUIT SNACKS! How the bunny knew that she needed socks and hair ties we will never know.
We then went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Jackie's house to see everyone. Lunch was great, Isabelle blew bubbles outside with Mike, Jen, Abbie and Jack. The girl loves bubbles, and even more than bubbles she loves going outside. Isabelle got to see Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop, and believe it or not the Easter bunny dropped of some present at Mom-Mom's house for Isabelle.
Then off to Papaw and Mamaw's house were Isabelle participated in her first pinata bashing, played on the swing set, hunted eggs, and jumped on the trampoline. Isabelle did not really understand the whole concept of hunting for eggs and candy, she would pick up candy and then ask someone to open it for her. I think toward the end she finally started to catch on but by then she was pooped.
All in all we had a great Easter, but unfortunately we were not able to make it to everyones house. There are just to many places for us to go =(

Jonah's B-Day Party
Kids grow up so fast, Isabelle went to her "boyfriend" Jonah's birthday last week! All morning long before the party she sang Happy Birthday to Jonah, but when we finally got to his party she was to shy to sing it to him. The party was at Wiggly Play Center in Frisco and was so much fun! Isabelle had never been there before, but we will definitely be back with our little climber. Isabelle was very excited to see all of her friends one last time, since her last day of school was the Friday before Jonah's party. By the time we left Isabelle was EXHAUSTED, when we got home Dave and I laid her down for a nap and she sang Happy Birthday Jonah until she fell asleep. It was so sweet.

Isabelle's Version of the ABC's
I have been working with Isabelle to get down her ABC's, but she needs a little coaching. She gets the A,B,C,D part then says wont you come and sing with me. So tonight I cornered her in the bathtub trying to get her to perform for the camera like some kind of monkey!! She was doing great with a little help from Mom and Dad. Before you watch the view, you have to know that the video contains bodily functions!! It was hilarious right at the end Isabelle toots in the tub (you can barely hear it in the video, but trust me it was loud). Then she says, "I tooted"... That is when Dave and I lost it, and I had to turn off the camera. I am so glad that we caught it on tape, it was adorable.

ARE YOU SH@#ING ME???
I cannot believe the month we are having. First the hail damage on our car, then we have tons of people in our neighborhood that have roofing signs in their hard so chances are we need to have our roof repaired. The Tootsie gets hurt, Dave gets in an accident and NOW I walk out of the house to see this.....
What kind of person does this and doesn't leave a note?? What is this world coming to??

Isabelle's 1st Car Accident
The first thing daycare does when they call you in the middle of the day is, "Mrs. Wink it is not an emergency, but.." So I will start this blog the same way, it was not an emergency and no one was hurt. Thank God!
Dave was taking Isabelle to school this morning when he got into a minor fender bender. A woman pulled out in front of him by making a right hand turn in a left hand lane. Definitely her fault, but damage none the less. Luckily they were going very slow and Isabelle was not even phased by it.
Dave's poor truck- Looks like we are going to need a new bumper!

Snow, Snow and more Snow!!
I felt like I was in the North Pole last week, it was crazy! I cannot believe that it snowed again, it was great! The bad part is, I was all the way in Hurst when it started to sleet and snow. I had to drive all the way home to McKinney in a snow storm in a rental. Gee Whiz! I finally got home and tried to get Isabelle to play in the snow but she thinks it's yucky, and chose not to even come outside. She just stood at the window and watched as I took pictures.... what a girly girl, I love it!!
"EWW, Nasty" She says
The Front of our house- My poor tree was just starting to bloom before all the snow came and scared the blooms away.

Bad Dog year for the Wink =(
As some of you may already know we had to get rid of one of our dogs at the beginning of the year because she was starting to get very aggressive toward Isabelle. We hated to get rid of her and it was really hard, but Isabelle means more to us then our dog. As awful as that may sound.
On Friday Tootsie, our other dog, started limping and laying around a lot. We thought maybe she had just hurt her foot so thought that we would give her the weekend to get over it. Monday we took her to the vet and they think she may have torn her ACL in her knee. They wanted $450 to do X-Rays and sedate her to insure that it is in fact her ACL. Ugghh! It seems like everyone and their mamma wants money, and HELLO I QUIT MY JOB.. I HAVE NO $$$ So we opted to give her some pain medicine/anti inflammatory medicine and see if it gets better. (Which still cost us $215) Can you believe that this dog that shed's all over my house, scratches my front door, digs up my back yard, and sneaks things outside is now costing me more $$. The bad part is that I actually feel bad for her, what is wrong with me. I guess I just cannot bear to see that poor mutt limping around in pain, it is just so sad.
So we should know in a week if the pain medicine worked or if it is the ACL. If it is the ACL then that means surgery, a $2000-$3000 surgery!! Oh man, oh man!

Our Visitors
On Thursday my Mom (Grandma) came over with Conner and Collin, and stayed until Saturday morning. Isabelle had such a great time seeing Grandma and her cousins. Thursday night we all stayed in because the weather was horrible, I cannot believe all of the snow that we got!! On Friday Grandma watched the kids while I worked, and then we later took them to go get their pictures taken at the Picture People. For anyone who has ever tried to get 3 kids under the age of 5 to take a good picture you can already image how well that went over. It is just not physically possible to get all of them to smile at the same time, much less get them to sit still for the 10 seconds that it takes to snap the picture.
From the Picture People we decided to take all of the kids to Peter Piper Pizza (it is like Chucky Cheese, but a little less ghetto). The kids all had so much fun! Conner thought he was so big putting his own coins into the machines. Collin was of course the last one to finish his food because I am convinced that as long as their is food in front of him he will eat it, he needs to teach Isabelle that trick. When he was finally done him, Isabelle and Conner all round of the merry go round and loved it. It was probably a little boring for Conner but Isabelle and Collin loved it. The second best ride of the day was the ice cream truck, Collin and Isabelle rode that a million times. Check out the pictures below I was beginning to think that Collin and Isabelle were going to fall asleep on one of the two rides.
All of the kids had a great time!
She can barely stay awake

Let there Be Light!
This maybe embarrassing but I am going to tell you all about the highlight of my weekend... Dave FINALLY replaced the light bulb in the bathroom, YEAH! I can not tell you how excited I was when Dave came to me today and said, "babe, you can finally can poo in the light". It was the most romantic thing that he has said to me in two weeks. Roughly two weeks ago the bathroom light went out so I either have to pee in the dark, go in another bathroom, or go with the door wide open. Dave's solution to my problem was to take a candle with me, what a handy man.
Word to the wise, when looking to buy a new house the high ceilings sure look nice but just think about how long it will take you to get a bulb replaced. You to could be peeing in the dark, and trust me it is a lot worse than it sounds.

The "Princess" is 2!!
It was unavoidable the "princess" has turned two and she is starting to act like it. We have had many temper tantrums lately and so yesterday I decided to capture one on camera. Normally she is the first one to say "cheese" but not this time she was so mad at me. Why you ask? Because I wouldn't let her crawl out the dog door, I know I am a horrible mother!!
I cannot wait to show these pictures to her boyfriend (when she is 35 years old that is), she is going to be so embarrassed.
P.S. Please do not look at my baseboards, I cannot believe that they are that messy! I have some serious work to do, now I am embarrassed.

We Definitely Live in Texas!!
There is no doubt that we are living in Texas!! How can we go from 70 degrees over the weekend to snowing 3-4 inches on Monday night? Dave yell's at me to come look out the window on Monday night, to my shock and surprise the snow is POURING down. The weather man predicted this but I thought for sure that he was smoking crack, I mean he would have to be right it was 70 degrees YESTERDAY! So now the snow is melted (it's Wednesday) and we are expected to have a high of 68 today, but guess what it is going to snow again tomorrow??? I give up! So get your short out from under the storage under the bed, but don't pack your coat's away because you never know what is going to happen in McKinney!
I tried taking Isabelle out in the snow later on in the day but she thought it was"yucky"! She is not reallyl into getting wet or dirty, my little princess =)
