Pee Pee

Okay, so Dave and I are pretty new at this parenting thing and have never potty trained before. How in the heck do you teach a kid to go in the potty. We know that Isabelle is super smart and she is showing all kinds of signs of being ready to go in the big potty. She loves to sit on the toilet, she tells you when she is wet or poopy, and the other day I went to get her up from her nap and she was sitting on top of the changing table with her diaper off, wipes all of the place and the room smelled of baby lotion. I do not think that the kid could be more ready.

So last night we went to Target and made a big deal about Isabelle getting big girl panties. Yeah! Let me tell you now, the kid looks adorable in big girl panties.. Oh so cute! We decided that we would start trying to potty train this weekend, but I really want to use the old type of cloth training pants (apparently they are hard to find). Anyways, Isabelle gets home and wants to put on the big girl panties, I explain to her that she has to tell Mommy and Daddy when she wants to go potty. I took her to the potty and put her on. You should see the look on her face, she is grinning from ear to ear and is so proud of her self. I keep asking her do you need to go pee pee, she says yeah and then wipes and flushes the toilet. (She still has not pee pee'd in the potty at this point) She then gets off the potty seat and starts to climb back on, when she starts to pee pee. It was hilarious, you should have seen the look on her face she was so shocked and clueless as to what just happened. This is when it dawned on me that she has no clue what pee pee is... LOL Well she slips and falls on the pee pee, starts crying and Mommy has to hold her. The adventure ends with Mommy and Isabelle covered in pee pee and NONE in the potty!!

If I can find the cloth training pants today I will try it out again this weekend. What a mess, literally!

Spring Break Visitors

Last week was my first week off and boy was it a busy one. It just happened to be the same week that Spring Break fell on so we were lucky enough to have a bunch of visitors. Daniel and Troy (my brother and uncle, yes I said Uncle-he's a young uncle) spent the night for a couple of nights. We had a great time, we visited Aviator park and the boys had a great time playing with Isabelle.

Then we went and picked up Ashley and Shane to spend a couple of nights. Before we left Hurst Pop (my dad), Troy, and Ashley took Isabelle to the park. Isabelle had so much fun that she threw a huge fit before we left, she loves to swing and slide!!

While Shane and Ashley were over we decided to do some painting, Isabelle loves to paint!! As you can image she made a huge mess. It was so cute, she had it all over herself including all over her face. It looked like she had a goatee so we finished it off by making her a beard and putting silly glasses on her. She had so much and then it was off to the bath tub.

Easter

We had such a great time at Easter. It started with Isabelle waking up to her presents from the Easter bunny. She got new hair ties, socks, stuff animals, a bunny cup, and her favorite FRUIT SNACKS! How the bunny knew that she needed socks and hair ties we will never know.

We then went to Uncle Mike and Aunt Jackie's house to see everyone. Lunch was great, Isabelle blew bubbles outside with Mike, Jen, Abbie and Jack. The girl loves bubbles, and even more than bubbles she loves going outside. Isabelle got to see Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop, and believe it or not the Easter bunny dropped of some present at Mom-Mom's house for Isabelle.

Then off to Papaw and Mamaw's house were Isabelle participated in her first pinata bashing, played on the swing set, hunted eggs, and jumped on the trampoline. Isabelle did not really understand the whole concept of hunting for eggs and candy, she would pick up candy and then ask someone to open it for her. I think toward the end she finally started to catch on but by then she was pooped.

All in all we had a great Easter, but unfortunately we were not able to make it to everyones house. There are just to many places for us to go =(

Jonah's B-Day Party

Kids grow up so fast, Isabelle went to her "boyfriend" Jonah's birthday last week! All morning long before the party she sang Happy Birthday to Jonah, but when we finally got to his party she was to shy to sing it to him. The party was at Wiggly Play Center in Frisco and was so much fun! Isabelle had never been there before, but we will definitely be back with our little climber. Isabelle was very excited to see all of her friends one last time, since her last day of school was the Friday before Jonah's party. By the time we left Isabelle was EXHAUSTED, when we got home Dave and I laid her down for a nap and she sang Happy Birthday Jonah until she fell asleep. It was so sweet.

Isabelle's Version of the ABC's

I have been working with Isabelle to get down her ABC's, but she needs a little coaching. She gets the A,B,C,D part then says wont you come and sing with me. So tonight I cornered her in the bathtub trying to get her to perform for the camera like some kind of monkey!! She was doing great with a little help from Mom and Dad. Before you watch the view, you have to know that the video contains bodily functions!! It was hilarious right at the end Isabelle toots in the tub (you can barely hear it in the video, but trust me it was loud). Then she says, "I tooted"... That is when Dave and I lost it, and I had to turn off the camera. I am so glad that we caught it on tape, it was adorable.

ARE YOU SH@#ING ME???

I cannot believe the month we are having. First the hail damage on our car, then we have tons of people in our neighborhood that have roofing signs in their hard so chances are we need to have our roof repaired. The Tootsie gets hurt, Dave gets in an accident and NOW I walk out of the house to see this.....

What kind of person does this and doesn't leave a note?? What is this world coming to??

Isabelle's 1st Car Accident

The first thing daycare does when they call you in the middle of the day is, "Mrs. Wink it is not an emergency, but.." So I will start this blog the same way, it was not an emergency and no one was hurt. Thank God!

Dave was taking Isabelle to school this morning when he got into a minor fender bender. A woman pulled out in front of him by making a right hand turn in a left hand lane. Definitely her fault, but damage none the less. Luckily they were going very slow and Isabelle was not even phased by it.

Dave's poor truck- Looks like we are going to need a new bumper!
