2nd day at the Beach

I think we are going to stay in Ocean City FOREVER!! Isabelle eats like a pig here and sleeps so well. Yesterday after her trip to the beach she took a four hour nap, and for breakfast that morning she had oatmeal, a piece of bacon, a banana, and then helped Mommy and Daddy eat some of their sandwiches. I was impressed!!

Of course we went to the beach today and Isabelle had a blast playing in the sand. She even got in the water a little, but the water was still freezing! We also saw a ton of dolphins, it was amazing!!

Aunt Nancy and Isabelle taking a dip, and Aunt Jackie striking a pose.

If you click on the Ocean pick you can see 4-5 dolphin fins. (I do not have my computer so I have way of editing the picture.)

Our trip to the Boardwalk

We took Miss Isabelle down to the boardwalk last night to ride all of the rides. She had a lot of fun!! She rode on the boats, on the race car, 2 carousels and the motorcycles and her least favorite was a ride called "The Whip". She hated "The Whip", every time it came to the corner it whipped around and scared Isabelle to death. Poor little girl, by the end of the ride she was crying and wanting off!

On the Boat--- Pop Pop and Isabelle riding on one of the oldest carousels in the world (made in 1902)

The Whip- the 2nd picture is very blurry but only because it whipped my baby so fast my camera couldn't keep up.. Poor girl

Playing games on the boardwalk

Ringing the bell on the firetruck ride, and kissing the pirate (what a flirt)

Riding the motorcycles, and watching the lights on the back of the race car

Dad fed her to the lion and then tried saving her....

First Day at the Beach

Last year Isabelle hated the beach and the sand, but this year I had a plan. We got Isabelle a sandbox for the house in order to get ready for the beach, and she loves it now! She was so excited to see this HUGE sandbox! She would stop every couple of steps and start shoveling before we could even get to our spot on the beach.

She had a great time having Mom-Mom make sand cakes, and then smashing them. The water was absolutely freezing so we did not get in, but the sand was tons of fun.

It was a little windy so Aunt Jackie was all covered up!

Can you bring bullets on a Plane?

So the funniest thing happened while Dave and Sandy were going through security at the airport. Dave runs his carry on through the scanner and the TSA asks to search his bag. Maybe asking is not the right word, they demanded. So the take all the contents out and search the bag, but find nothing. They run the bag back through the scanner empty but are apparently a little suspicious. After dumping out his bag 4 times and running his bag back through a couple dozen times the head of the security comes over and pulls something out of his bag. They show the suspicious item to Dave Sr. and to his surprise (allegedly) it is a magazine full of hollow point bullets!!! LOL.. Can you believe it??

The story goes that Dave's brother in law, Brandon, is a police officer. Well Brandon and Sr. switched luggage bags a couple of years ago and I guess Brandon left it in the bag. Funny thing is that Sr. has flown with this bag (checked of course) for at least three years now, and he just now finally found it. Surprisingly enough it does not matter to the TSA if the bullets or your or not, it is your bag.. LOL So Dave had to fill out an incident report and they are reporting it to the TSA. They asked him if he had a concealed handgun license, he said no and the guard told him good because it would be revolked if he did. They also mentioned that if he would have had the gun that he would have not been flying today. Apparently TSA will be sending him some sort of paper work, or something in regards to the matter. I guess they take this stuff pretty seriously, so fo future reference NO BULLETS ON A PLANE.

I think now Dave and I will have to start arriving at the airport 30-45 minutes earlier than normal, seeing as how he will now require a cavaity serarch before flying (being that his name sake has been blacklilsted with the TSA). Dave Jr. and I are now trying to figure out what we can sneak in his bag for the flight back, that is if they let him fly back =)

Finally on Vacation

We made it to the ocean but what an eventful day. We had to wake up at 4:30 this morning to make our 6:30 flight, but we made it successfully. The first thing Isabelle said when we pulled up to the airport was, "we're at the Ocean, yeah!" so I had to explain to her that we were not there yet. She threw a fit at the terminal because we had to check her stroller, you all should know by now (through other posts) how emotionally attached she is to that stroller. We get on the airplane, she puts on her seatbelt and says, "ok, ready lets go in the sky". As soon as we finally took of she yelled, "Look at me, I am flyyyiiinnngg. This is cool!". I love having a toddler, she is just a laugh a minute.

On her last trip to Baltimore she slept the entire flight there so I was hoping for a repeat, especially seeing as how she had to get up so early that morning. No such luck, but luckily even thought she was awake and tired she did really well. Until.... She lets out a scream about 2.5 hours into the flight, I tell her not to scream on the plane and she shakes her head and says "I'm going crazy, let me out". At that point I knew I was pushing it and so I took her out for a little break!

After our flight finally landed we had a 2.5 hour wait for Dave's parents to get there, we were sharing a rental car. BWI has the neatest little observatory deck that was perfect for Isabelle. They had a childs play area a plane, luggage carrier and a fuel tanker. You could watch the planes land, and learn about the inner workings of a plane and how the operate. So here they are the first pictures of the vacation.

We are now at the Ocean, Isabelle is in bed and Dave and I are winding down to prepare for our two weeks of NOTHING! Yes, I cannot hardly wait... I will keep you all posted.

Happy 16th Birthday Shane!

I cannot believe it, but my little brother turned 16 on Sunday! He is getting so big! He spent the week at our house so on Sunday when he woke up Dave made him pancakes in the shape of a 16, with a candle in the middle of the 6.

Later that day we took him to his birthday party.

The party was at a clubhouse with a pool, racket ball room, etc. Isabelle loved to go in the room and scream as loud as she could just to hear her own echo.

My New Wagon!

Isabelle's friend Kaitlyn has a wagon, and ever since Isabelle has laid eyes on it that is all she talks about. She is dying to get a wagon! To her surprise Pops got her one, and boy does she love it. He gave it to her on Father's day and since then that is all she talks about. She had to eat dinner in it by the pool at Mamaw's and Papaw's. We even made her a pallet so she could sleep in it (of course she never fell asleep).

When we brought it home she dragged it all over the living room and kitchen, and insisted on eating her dinner in it the next night. I had to draw the line somewhere, so she is no longer allowed to eat in it. It works great to take all of our stuff to the pool, and she loves pulling her babies around in it. -Thanks Pops, Love Isabelle

Happy Father's Day Pop-Pop Wink

Our first stop on Father's Day was to Jackie and Mike's for lunch. We wished Pop Pop a Happy Father's Day, and gave him a photo collage to take with him to work. Isabelle and Pop Pop blew bubbles outside, that girl has him wrapped around her little finger. We all leave for vacation in a few days, and I know Dave and I will be in big trouble. Between Pop Pop, Mom Mom, and Pop Pop Fisher we will not stand a chance of not letting Isabelle get anymore spoiled than she already is.

Our Camping Trip

Dave is such a great Daddy, and a wonderful provider for our family so Isabelle and I really wanted to do something special for him for Father's Day weekend. Last Father's day we bought him a tent and he still has not used it (he even asked for one). So we decided to put it to good use and go camping!!

Dave is not a huge fan of the hot weather, and he has a hard time sleeping in abnormal circumstances so I had to do a slight modification to my camping idea. I looked into renting a portable A/C unit so that we could camp in our backyard but it was so expensive. It was pushing 100 degrees outside so we opted to spend the weekend camping int the game room upstairs. I was trying to surprise Dave with the idea so that when he got home the tent would be up and ready to go. I took the tent out started to put it together and was having one heck of a time, I worked on the thing well over and hour before finally realizing that the center hub was missing. Thank God we were not out in the wilderness somewhere with missing pieces to the tent. So after many phone calls to the manufacturer and Academy Sports I finally had to take a trip up to Academy to exchange the darn thing. (That in itself was a huge fiasco that I am not willing to discuss anymore, let's just say I am upset with Academy). When I finally get back to the house with the new tent I started to put it together. For those of you would have ever put a tent together by yourself you know it is near impossible. Not to mention I have a toddler who wants to "help", and a big doofy dog that wants to help by laying on the thing while I am trying to pop it up.

I finally managed to get the thing up and the cutest thing happened. I told Isabelle that I was going to run downstairs and get Mommy and Daddy's bed (a blow up matress). When I came back up I found her in her room trying to pull her bed. She said that she was going to put Isabelle's bed in the tent.. How cute!! So I put her matress in for her, and then went down stairs to get a few more things. When I got back up stairs she had all of her babies lined up in the tent, and had pulled in her blankets and pillow. She was so excited about camping, and loved every minute of it.

Isabelle loves her Tootsie (sometimes), I am sure by the looks on Tootsie's face thats he loves her back =)

Daddy and Isabelle went fishing at the local watering hole while we were camping

We made s'mores and I was almost attacked by a bear in the middle of the night when I went to the bathroom. Camping was dangerous, but a lot of fun!! This may have to be a new Father's Day tradition.

A 2nd shot at the ABC's

Isabelle is starting to develop some mad ABC skills. I have been working with her and I think she is starting to really get it. The funny part is that she says, "A, B, C, D, wont you come and play with me", so I have to get her over the E, F, G hump then she can take it from there. Check it out:

Where can I get Physical Therapy for a skinned knee?

Today Isabelle and I went on a walk to distribute the rest of the flyers for the event we are having in the community next weekend. Isabelle was helping when she accidentally fell down and scratched both of her knees. I have never seen a bigger drama queen that Isabelle. All of this happened around 9:30 this morning, it is now 2:40 and she still refuses to walk on it.. Pathetic! I have never met a child that did not like Band-Aids until Isabelle, I have to practically hold her down to get her to put one on.

When she took her nap, she refused a blankie because it would hurt her knee. She insisted on sleeping in the "Mommy Daddy bed", so I went along with that one because it was a battle that I was not willing to fight this morning. She doesn't even want Boo-Boo Tiger, this is shocking because we use this all of the time even for pretend Boo-Boo's.

When she woke up from her nap the first thing she said is, "I'm ok Mommy". As if I was worried, it is a minor flesh wound.. LOL
I- "Wanna play with toys Mommy"
M-" Go get them, they are in your toy box"
I- "Boo-Boo Mommy"- with a look on her face like, duh Mom I cannot get out of bed I have broken both of my legs!!!

If anyone knows how long it takes to recover fully from this kind of injury please let me know. Also if you have any physical rehabilitation clinics that you can recommend that would be great, this cannot be your average skinned knee (at least not according to Isabelle).

(These videos are posted later on in the day when Isabelle started to take her first steps. It is a miracle she can walk!! Sorry, you can hear me cracking up in the background... I tried to contain myself)

The Petting Zoo

We went to the McKinney Jazz Festival last weekend. The highlight of the day for Isabelle was thats he got to pet all of the animals at the petting zoo. Poor animals, she chased them all over the pen.
