Birthday Party #1

Isabelle is blessed enough to have so many people that love her, so this year we had to have two birthday parties for her! The first birthday party was on Saturday, her actual birthday, and the theme was a princess tea party. All of the girls dressed up like princesses and the boys dressed up like superheros. Isabelle insisted upon real glasses dishes for her tea party, so I have spent the last month at every Good Will and CCA in the area but finally managed to find enough cups and saucers. The kids started off with coloring and the tea party and we actually managed to have no spills (a miracle). Then Abby (who even spent the night that night) went around and did the girls make up while I sprinkled princess dust in their hair. They decorated their own cupcakes, did the pinata and finally retired upstairs to play in Isabelle's new playroom. The best part was it was a magical day for my sweet little princess, she truly had an amazing time!

The cupcakes I made for the parents, they turned out so pretty =) I had to do boy gift bags and girl bags, did not think that princess bags would go over well for the boys!

I asked Isabelle why she kept putting her hand up, her reason was so a bird could land on it like Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. Last picture is Isabelle and Abby, Abby was such a big help with the party and Isabelle was so tickled that she was spending the night in her new bed with her.

The four year old banner I made her, it was so fun looking back at the old pictures I have of her.

Isabelle's Prince Charming, Jonah, as people would come to the party she would open the door and say,"welcome to my castle" but when Jonah got there she ran across the room and yelled, "Prince Charming is here" and was he ever dressed the party (ADORABLE, the little love birds).

This is Isabelle explaining to Abby that the doll she just opened is an American Doll.. LOL Isabelle recently discovered the American Doll catalog, after reading it she closed it put her hand on the top and said, "that was the best magazine I have ever read". Since then she has been wanting one, so we are letting her just believe that this doll is an American Doll, is that so wrong??? The answer is NO, those stinking dolls are $100 a piece please let me live my lie for as long as possible.

For the past two years Pop Pop Fish has sending Isabelle fruit bouquets for her birthday, the girl absolutely LOVES fruit! She was so excited to see that she got another one this year and immediately dove into eating it.

Abby is Isabelle's role model now, so when it was time to go to dinner Isabelle had to put a dress on that matched Abby's and do her hair the same. Meagan the "American Doll" even made it into this picture =)

Snow Day #2 for 2010

Some of the snow had melted by the time I took a picture of the house, but an impressive amount of snow had gathered on the table on the back porch over the past couple of days.

Daddy told Isabelle that once he was done with work he would help her build a snowman, so the fun began as soon as Daddy was off his conference call. It was clear to me that this was not Daddy's first snowman. I love the picture of Isabelle falling in the snow it reminds me of the Christmas Story when the little brother fell down and could not get up, she was all bundled up this day.

The first picture is the beginning of a snowball fight with Daddy, apparently the girl is not very good at picking out opponents but luckily Daddy went easy on her.

The snowball battle continues!

We used Mr. Potato head pieces to build the smaller snowman, and Isabelle and Daddy built the bigger one all by themselves (as I manned the camera).

Snow Day #1 for 2010

After the Valentine's Day party we headed home to play in the snow for a little while. I have lived in Texas my entire life (with the exception of one year) and I have never seen this much snow in the DFW area. Isabelle and I had a blast playing and building our first snowman. I have to admit this was my first snowman ever, with the exception of a small one foot snowman and I hardly think that counts. What I am trying to get to is I need some serious practice when it comes to snowmen building =)

Isabelle was trying to catch a snowflake on her tongue like Caillou does.

She is in love with her snowman, she called him her husband. Later that evening she told me that she was worried about her husband being outside all by himself in the cold and she hoped he would be ok.

Valentine's Day Party!

The day of Isabelle's Valentine's Day party at school was the first day of a ridiculous amount of snow. I probably would have just let her skip school that day but of course I had volunteered to pick up lunch for the party so I was now obligated to go. It turned out being fine, although there was a lot of snow the roads were not to bad and my sweet hubby was not going to take a chance with his pregnant wife so he decided to drive me to the party on his lunch break (love that man!).

The party was short and sweet but the kids still had a great time. They passed out Valentines Day cards, ate a Chick-fil-a lunch, and decorated heart shaped cookies.

My Little Buddy

It absolutely amazes me how creative and imaginative Isabelle can be sometimes. One night Isabelle was playing in the office while I was working on the computer. She found the end pieces to a sheet of address labels and called Daddy into the room. She had him lay on the floor then put the label piece on the top of his eyebrow and begin to "wax" his eyebrows like how Mommy does at the nail place. Cracked me up that she would see that little piece of paper and even think that, needless to say Daddy's eyebrows look beautiful now thanks to Isabelle =)

Ouch, right across the entire eyebrow thank goodness it was not real wax or he would have looked a little crazy.

Isabelle's Room Makeover

A little over a year ago I moved Isabelle from her nursery into a big girl room across the hall, painted the room, made a comforter and went with a monkey theme. We had ever intention of just letting the new baby sleep in the old nursery (redecorated of course). Once we finally got pregnant my opinion changed. Dave and I had secretly wanted to finish out part of our attic for a playroom for Isabelle and being that the attic was off of the nursery room it made more sense to move her back into the nursery. So for her birthday present this year we decided to give her a new room, new furniture and an attic makeover. She is so excited, here are some pictures of her as the room progressed I am going to have to take some pictures and post the finished product pretty soon. The room turned out so cute =)

Isabelle sleeping in her new room, in her new bed for the first time.. she was so tickled! When we told her about finishing out the attic I don't know that she could really imagine what that was going to look like, but once their was plywood on the ground and drywall she saw the light at the end of the tunnel. She walked it and started planning where she was going to put things, a doll house here, babies there, etc.. She could not stand it any longer the day there was a floor and the contractor gave her the go ahead to play in there she was bringing in toys. We had to take them out that night so the drywall people could come and texture but she didn't mind!

Now that the room is done she has a space that everyone loves to play in, well everyone except for tall people with a low roof it makes it a little hard =)
