Babies on the Brain

As much as I have baby fever, I think that Isabelle has developed a slightly more serious case. That is all the poor child can talk about these days. The other morning she came down stairs after waking up, sat at the dinning room table and said, "Mommy I am really worried". She started telling me how we needed to go buy a new car seat and I asked her why. For her little sister of course, so that she could sit in the back seat with her. I explained to her that there is no baby yet and that once mommy had a baby that we would get him/her all of the things that she needed. That's when she started going through her list papi's, lights for the crib, bottles, blankies, and it goes on and on. She is going to be such a good big sister =) Thank goodness she is going to be such a big sister because she has high hopes for Mommy in the baby department. Last week she added to her nightly prayer that she want's God to put four babies in Mommy's belly. As much as Dave and I talk to her about maybe only having one, two at the most she is determined that I have four. I sure hope God's will is not for me to have quads, but hey at this point beggers can't be choosers.

Unfortunately this is not our month, the first month of infertility treatments were not successful. We are starting all over again, hopefully this month will be our lucky month =)

Trip to the Fire Station

My cousin, Bradley, is a firefighter and Isabelle just thinks that is the coolest thing ever. He invited us to visit the station forever ago and we finally made it out this week. Isabelle is for some reason terrified of the firetruck, I think it is the loud sirens. but after visiting a little while she finally warmed up. We got to sit in the back of an ambulance, "drive" the firetruck, and Isabelle even tried on some gear. She had a great time and Bradley even gave her a little party bag. By the time we got home she had fireman stickers and tattoos all over her =) It was a blast!

Sitting in the "doctor chair" on the ambulance and driving the firetruck

What a great picture of Bradley and Isabelle

Trying on Bradley's jacket after a little bribery =)

Thanks for having us Bradley, we had so much fin and learned a lot.

Conceiving a Baby = Some Serious Science

The battle to conceive continues, hopefully this will be the winning month. The week has been filled with what seems to be endless doctors appointments. As mentioned in my last blog we went to the doctor on Saturday for a sonogram. The sonogram was to ensure that the Clomid was doing it's job and that I was producing follicles. The tech said that my body loves to produce follicles because there were a bunch but not any that were ready to ovulate yet, so I had to go back on Tuesday. Tuesday morning I had another sonogram done and the follicles had grown and were ready to go. I have three follicles (21 mm, 19.5mm, and 17.5), for those of you who know about follicles. Personally I had no clue what follicles were until my visit on Tuesday. They are what holds the egg inside of the ovaries, once they get to a mature size of about 20mm you are ready to ovulate. So they did a test and was not ovulating on my own. This means Dave's lucky day, he got to give me a shot! I am not scared of shots AT ALL, but just the thought of someone other than a medical professional seems a little scary to me. It went well and he did a great job! We were then instructed to do a little business that night (I sure hope you know what that means) not for the purpose of making a baby, but for a post coital test the next day. We did as we were told and went in to the doctors office on Wednesday where they checked to see if any of the sperm from last night had survived through to the morning, or if my body had rejected and killed them. Good news, his swimmers were alive! Yeah! So again we were instructed to do some business Wednesday night as well as Thursday morning. At this point I am beginning to feel like a science experiment, constantly poked and prodded, blood drawn, given all kinds of time lines, etc. Not to mention as much as I love my husband this whole "relations" thing is not fun any more. When you are doing it just to make a baby, it takes a little bit of the fun out of it, plus I have been battling allergies all week which does not help matters.

Anyways, we go back to the doctor tomorrow for yet another sonogram to make sure that I actually ovulated. Then I go back in next week for a blood test to check my progesterone levels. If my progesterone levels are not good they still have time at that point to put me on some type of supplements to help that. The following Friday (the 29th, I think) I will take a home pregnancy test. Let's hope that this is our month. If this is our month then I will be due at the beginning of February which will be right around Isabelle's birthday. I hate that she would have to share her birthday, but at this point I will take a baby whenever I can get one =)

Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's day! Dave and Isabelle snuck out of the house to get breakfast before I woke, which meant that I got to sleep in a little longer. After breakfast we went to church where Isabelle filled out a questionnaire (with help) on all of the things Mommy: (her answers in red)

My mom is 25 years old
My mom is a little bit tall
My mom has orange hair
My mom has blue eyes
My mom's favorite color is pink
My mom's favorite food is sandwiches
My mom smiles when she's happy
My mom like to clean up with me

After service we went to a new place up the road called Smashing Times, it is a really neat mosaic place. Dave brought us there to do a family art project, how sweet. We made a beautiful cross, once the grout is in I will take a picture and post it. We then had a nice lunch at new Mexican food place (which happens to be my real favorite food, not sandwiches.. lol). Before dinner that night Isabelle announced she was going to say a special mother's day prayer. She normally says the same prayer every night for dinner "God is great, God is good....", you know the one. Last night the prayer went like this, "I love God, I love Santa, and I love puzzles. Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Amen". I am not sure what that has to do with mother's day in her eyes, but it was still so sweet.

Thank you Dave and Isabelle for another special Mother's day, you two are good to me year round.

Hiney Talk

The theme of last week was Hiney's (aka bottoms), ahh the joys of a three year old. Isabelle had a few potty accidents which is out of the ordinary for her so I was startting to worry that she might have a bladder infection. I decided that I had to go to the doctor and see if these accidents were caused by a bladder infection or if she was just getting to wrapped up in what she was doing to take time to go potty. Not to mention I was scared that I was putting her in time out and taking away her computer for an infection that she could not control. We went to the doctor, pottied in a cup and she is fine. Yeah! After the doctor we went to Wal Mart and Isabelle had a sticker on her dress from the doctors office. The cashier started to ask her about the sticker and I knew I was in big trouble, an open door for Isabelle to share her personal information. Isabelle started telling the lady that she had to go to the doctor because she was having hiney problems and about how the doctor had to look at her hiney to make sure that everything was ok, blah, blah, blah. Luckily the lady just laughed a little and then told Isabelle that it was ok and that everyone has hiney problems sometimes. As loud as could be Isabelle yells, "Mommy she has hiney problems too", right in the middle of Wal-Mart. Don't you just love this age?

It doesn't stop there though. I had a sonogram appointment at the fertility doctor on Saturday. Dave really wanted to be in the room to see what they found on the sonogram (naturally), but it was a vaginal sonogram so I had Dave sit with Isabelle behind me so she was out of eye shot. I guess while I was in the changing room Dave and Isabelle had a conversation about what the sonogram was looking for. (Eggs) Later that night we were at Dave's aunts house when Isabelle started asking all kinds of questions:

I-Where in your hiney are the eggs, Mom
M-They aren't really in my hiney they are in my belly
I- Do the eggs crack? How do the eggs get there? How does the baby get there? I want eggs and a baby in my belly?

Oh my goodnes! So we ended up having an extremely vague explanation of the birds and bees. So many questions for such a little girl.

If you are a mom of a toddler I am sure that you can also relate to the public bathroom talks. It seems like everytime I take Isabelle to the pubic bathroom that by the time we leave someone in the bathroom is laughing in histerics over something that Isabelle has said:
-Mom why is that lady tooting?
-Why does it stink in here?
-Mommy here is more toilet paper. Your hiney is not small like mine, you need extra.
- PEE PEE COME OUT
- I see your hiney (that one is saved for when Mommy has to go potty too)
- That lady has A LOT of poo poo
I always look forward to the weekends when Daddy gets to take Isabelle to the bathroom instead of me. I can only imagine what she says while in the boys bathroom.

Sewing, Sewing & more Sewing

I have to start by saying that my husband is the greatest and he must really love me. A few weeks ago I sent him an email hint that I really wanted a new sewing machine for mother's day that could also embroider. What I thought was a pipe dream became my reality last Monday. I am excited to say that I have a new sewing/embroidery machine.. YEAH!

I never knew all of the amazing features that some of the new machines have. I had an old Kenmore machine that was pretty basic, and as far as upgrades were concerned all that was on my "wish" list was a machine that has a clear bobbin holder. Awww, the simple things in life can sometimes make you so happy. I got way more than I bargained for! Not only did I get a clear bobbin but once it starts running low it beeps and displays a message that says "your bobbin is running low". I almost peed in my pants I was so excited! It has a ton of decorative stitches, 10 button holes, embroiders, and so much more.

I have been a sewing fool for the past week, here are a few of the projects that I got done last week:

(I made these hand towels for my mom for mothers day, I made a towel for my MIL but I forgot to take a picture of it). I embroidered little flowers on the apron of the dress that matches, so cute!

I cannot wait to get to the fabric store to start working on more projects! Dave has been dividing out the number of projects I make by the cost of the machine, so in no time the machine will have proven itself to be a good deal =) Thank you Dave and Isabelle you guys are the best.

"I Do" Day

So much to do and so little time, but everything pulled together perfectly. I picked up the flowers, Tosha and Mom dropped off decorations for the reception and we met up to get our hair done. Isabelle was the flower girl and I was so scared getting her hair done 4 hours before the wedding, but she did sooo good. She sat in the chair getting her hair done for an hour and a half. 53 BOBBY PINS! The girl constantly amazes me, I am convinced that she is the best daughter ever (well besides me.. LOL)

After hours of hair and makeup Tosha looked absolutely beautiful. She looked so happy and had the bridal glow. She looks just like her big sister.

The wedding was at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and it was absolutely beautiful! They are a little ridiculous on their garden rules but I think it was worth it for the beautiful background. The weather was perfect and Tosha looked amazing. On a separate note I have to say that I have the most sweetest husband in the whole wide world. As we are headed to Tosha's house to go get her dressed it started to sprinkle outside. Dave was driving and did not want Tosha to know that it was raining (she was in the back seat), so he didn't turn on the windshield wipers for miles just so that Tosha did not know it was raining. She couldn't see the windshield but he knew she was hear the wipers come on. How sweet is that, I love you honey! Back on track, the wedding was perfect and we headed over to the reception site.

Dave's dad made Tosha's wedding cake, and I have to say that I think this was his best cake yet. He did our wedding cake, Dave's sisters, friends and family cakes but this by far was the best. It was beautiful! Tosha asked me to make the grooms cake as a suprise for Josh, he is a huge Angels fan. It was nothing compared to the wedding cake, but still turned out pretty good.

Reception Pictures

Poor Dave he looks absolutely exhausted. He is such a good man, he was everyone's errand boy that day and didn't complain once. The best man EVER!

Isabelle relaxing her feet in the pool, it is tough work being a flower girl

Someone Actually Married by Sister!

Just kidding Tosha, I love you! This past month has been a big blur between wedding dress shopping, a bridal shower, bachelorette party and of course a wedding. I have to say THANK GOD it is all over, and now Mr & Mrs Josh Cisneros start their new life together. I am so happy for the two of them!

A few weeks ago I hosted Tosh'a Bachelorette party, and it was a blast. We had a lady from Pure Romance come out and throw a party for Tosha. The first thing that she did was make Tosha stand up with a huge penis and decide what it will be called for the rest of the night. So from this point forward the male anatomy is known as a "Bob" per Tosha's request =) Tosha holding a giant Bob was most definitely a Kodak moment! We had a blast and I spent a ton of money on products!

I even made themed favor bags filled with Pop Rocks, a blindfold, love coupons, peppermints, and homemade chocolate Bobs.

The Wedding Rehearsal

I love this picture of Conner, it looks like he saying marriage is the end.. LOL
I cannot believe I was able to get a picture of them all smiling (almost), it took 30 shots but EUREKA.. I love the picture
